Alex Webb offers consulting services to financial institutions and corporates on AI. With over eight years of training in analytic philosophy, as well as experience in computational modelling and AI (including neural networks and natural language processing), Alex advises clients on AI implementation and risk management. 

In 2023, Alex co-authored “Curing the SICK and other NLI Maladies”, a paper that explored solutions to annotation problems in the context of training machine learning algorithms for natural language inference, which was published in Computational Linguistics, the longest running publication devoted exclusively to the computational and mathematical properties of language and the design and analysis of natural language processing systems.      

Alex is completing a PhD in philosophy and cognitive science at Indiana University. He also holds a master’s degree in bioethics from NYU, a master’s degree in Chinese philosophy from Fudan University, and an MLitt in philosophy from the University of St. Andrews.
